Details & Character
Tierra High Fired terra cotta tiles are handmade and fired at high temperatures to create a dense, durable clay body. The unglazed natural clay finish has a rustic, irregular surface with earthy color movement and handcrafted character.
This octagonal accent insert format is not the same as the separate Octagon and Four Point Star pattern. This version is designed for decorative insert layouts using 2" or 4.25" accent tiles, depending on the selected option.
It works especially well in Spanish, Mexican, Mediterranean, hacienda, rustic, and California-style floor designs where a simple terra cotta field needs a more decorative detail.

Tierra High Fired terra cotta is valued for its natural clay color, coarse texture, and handmade variation. Before installation, dry lay and blend tiles to balance color, surface texture, edge detail, accent placement, and size variation across the finished area.
Tierra tiles must be sealed to protect the natural clay surface. Use a compatible penetrating sealer suitable for terra cotta and the installation environment. Tile and grout should be sealed after installation, especially in kitchens, bathrooms, exterior areas, and wet locations.

Tierra High Fired tiles are handmade from natural clay. Variation in color, texture, surface character, edge detail, shape, and size should be expected. Samples and add-on orders may not match the original order exactly due to handmade and production-lot variation.
Tierra tiles are fired at temperatures ranging from approximately 1180–1200°C. The high-firing process produces a dense, highly resistant clay body with moisture absorption of ≤ 5.3%.

ACCENT INSERTS SOLD SEPARATELY: A standard Octagonal layout uses approximately 1 compatible accent insert for every 1 Octagonal tile. Use the quantities per square foot shown below for manual calculations or enter the total project area in the appropriate calculator.
